Let
The Olympics Begin
08-08-08 Beijing

India
Contingent at Beijing Olympics 2008
|
|

|
The spectacular games
every four years began today in Beijing, China 08-08-08
With
the one party
system machinery in place, the games will be well run and reports
already trickling in of the tremendous cooperation of the Chinese
people at the many venues and tourist destinations. The games should no
doubt be an eye opener in many ways to all, as the media is controlled
in China both to the outside world and for those within.
All said and
done there will always be a BUT about Olympics in China with the
totalitarian type regime but conveniently capitalistic rulers ( a few)
Also
repressions against people al over China and also Tibet etc
BUT
OLYMPICS are a
time to usher in New UNDERSTANDING, New HOPE COOPERATION via Godwill
and Sports.. SO
LET THE GAMES BEGIN
|
COMMENTS AND PREDICTION:
ABOUT THE GAMES and COMPETITION:
Olympics was
always a lot more than mere sports and I mean in an idealistic and nice
way
To
most it was
a time for athletes to compete and build relations in the midst of
turmoul even if for two weeks! Add to this the saga of human
endurance, tales of improbable feats and achievements and even
attempts...stuff which legends are made of....Thus you had the Abebe
Bikila of Ethiopia running and winning Barefoot the marathon, Young
Muhammed Ali (then Casius Clay), Boxer Teofilo Stevenson of Cuba. The
football (soccer) triumphs of Argentina, Brazil, Italy etc and the
field hockey of India (not lately), Sprinter PT Usha and Bronze
Medal Wrestler KD Jhadav from India (Yes 1952) and Silver
medalist RS Rathore and Gold medalist swimmer A Nesty from
Suriname and many many stories from the USA forever including
Carl Lewis, Mary Lou to several others…BUT a pall of deceit and
deception has surfaced not just by the Soviet Bloc countries but all
over the world with Team USA also very very culpable.
Pressures of commercialization no doubt fuel the CHEATING and DOPING so
you have disgraced athletes like Ben Johnson (Canada), Marion Jones
USA, Tony Pettigrew, Al and Calvin Harrison ( US Sprinters) and the
list goes on....makes you wonder how CLEAN is the Games anymore!
PREDICT:
-USA
has maximum
medals Russia is next and China is next
-GOLDs
Max
China then USA
-At
least 3 TOP
Athletes will withdraw "due to injury"- an euphemism, for Drug busts
More later stay Tuned-
