India did the trick and won Golds for the first time in events like Shooting, Rowing, Athletics- with couple of repeats from the Commonwealth Games and more Women Atheltes doing a superb job. While the traditional games like Hockey and Tennis did not produce all as expected the Singles win in Mens was new. Kabbadi Gold was repeat as well. Cricket was played for the first time BUT India didnot participate. Bangladesh won the gold and Afghanistan won the Silver with Pakistan and Sri Lanka rounding the top with Bronze medals.

The New Symbol is a clever design chosen after hundreds were submitted. The symbol incorporates Devanagri Script ie Sanskrit- Hindi etc and reflects the symbol as written under the bar. It was designed by D. Udaya Kumar, a student at the Indian Institute of Technology, who studied typography, scripts and ancient printing methods.
Mr. Kumar’s winning entry was picked from more than 3,000 submissions and five finalists, and approved by the India’s top government ministers
Kumar said it was a great honor to be part of India's history and takes home a prize of 250,000 rupees,( about $5,363.) The symbol will “lend a distinctive character and identity to the currency and further highlight the strength and robustness of the Indian economy,” the Ministry of Finance said It will also help distinguish India’s currency from others with similar or identical names, like the Nepalese and Pakistani rupee, and the Indonesian rupiah.
